    "ARION" - the men's choir was founded in 1912. Since that moment it has been uniting the choir singing lovers just like its founders did. Nowadays "Arion" exists under the auspices of Cultural Centre "Zamek" in Poznań.
    In the repertuare there are Polish folk and patriotic songs as well as classical, sacred and opera pieces. This musical output of generations has been created by the power and skills of anonymous masters; it is the historical testimony and the view of customs and traditions as well as the proof of the national culture, its fantasy and sense of beauty. It's possible to list all the plans in which the choir gave its concerts. "ARION" performed in Warsaw Philharmonic as well as in Lublin, Bydgoszcz and Poznań. It added splendor to the ceremony of unveiling the statue of Adam Mickiewicz or Fryderyk Chopin's plague. At Christmas time is given 15 concerts of carols.

    Men's choir "Arion" is the initiator of various musical series:
    .Music at Dusk", ..Music and Architecture", ..My Songs", "Song in the life of the nation" and monographic concerts devoted to works of
    Stanisław Moniuszko, Feliks Nowowiejski, Wacław Lachman and Edmund Maćkowiak. It has been 'Arions' initiative to hold National Meetings of Men's Choir since 1988 in Poznań. "ARION" takes place in diploma concerts of the Poznań Musical Academy graduates by the Wielkopolskie Association of Choirs and Orchestras, the authorities of Poznań and the Cultural Centre "Zamek", (Poznań Choir Meetings, Biesiady Chóralne, Żywy ¦piewnik Domowy, Music Sacre, 'Choirs Organs') as well as in many musical events (festival "Music and poetry of the mountains", "Barbórkowe Choir Meetings" and also in spectacles in location (Architecture-Light-Sound) "Arion" has been giving concerts abroad. There have been 25 tourney in 14 countries: in Austria, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, France, Holland, Germany, Russia, Slovenia, San Marino, Great Britain, Vatican and Italy.

    The choir has been representing its city and the entire region on various reviews, festival and competitions, which it has been awarded different prizes and honorable mentions.
    The most significant ones were the following:

    • Festival of Polish Choir Musician, Katowice (laureate in the category of men's choirs)
    • Festival of Choir Musician, Miedzyzdroje (the winner of the Trygław statuette)
    • Festival of ..Songs about the Sea", Wejherowo (1st prize and the Golden Sail Statuette)
    • Festival "Legnica Cantat" (double laureate: in the category of adult choirs and men's choirs)
    • Festival of Religious Music, Rumia (1 prize in the category of men's choirs)
    • Festival if Polish Army Songs (Grand Prix after it has been given the first prize three times)

    "ARION" has taken part in many prestigious events: it represented Wielkopolska and the country on "Poznań Days" in Nottingham (England) and on General Meetings of the Britain-Poland Association in Rennes (France), it sang for the Prince of Kent, it performed on the ceremony of the opening 'Polonica cycle (Polish Museum in Rappersville), in the Nord Radio studio in Groningen (Holland), in the Royal Concert Hall and Country Hall in Nottingham (England). Four master's theses have been dedicated to the history of "Arion". The importance of the choir has been shown also by giving it's the title of an Honorary Member by: Ptockie Musical Association, Association of Polish-Hungarian friendship and Singing Association "Echo" from Lublin and Gdynia.

    For its performance the choir has been awarded significant national and regional distinctions

    • - the most important is the golden cross for services to the country
    • - the highest singing decoration in Poland.

    Men's Choir "ARION" is the member of Polish Choirs and Orchestras Association. Its conductor, since 1985 Andrzej Niedziałkowski, is the graduate of Musical Academy in Poznań and the student of professor Stefan Stuligrosz and senior lecturer Stanisław Wiernowolski.
    Conductor of the choir since IV 2014 is Jacek Pawełczak.
    Zbigniew ¦cigocki has been the chairman of the choir since II/2013.
